Literature Travel and Geography
They include works of travel and reports / statements of passengers / crew. The Geography is introduced from the greek word, and initially the Arabic word which means geography is Sura Al-Ard (Images of the Earth).
Many geographical concepts have been introduced / inherited from 'Iran and Greece. The geographical concepts was introduced already in pre-Islamic era.

Le Narrazioni di Marinai sono un tipo di opera geografica che si sviluppa nel VIII secolo, sono narrazioni e resoconti di viaggi di marinai.
Il Mercante Suleyman è uno dei primi esempi, vengono raccolte narrazioni raccolte in viaggio (ma anche mirabilia)
Mujay dizionario geografico, prevale il carattere descrittivo, vengono riportate notizie di carattere letterario e geografico.
Ibn Jubayr da una descrizione meticolosa anche della vita di corte e della realtà geografica del suo tempo.

Vengono descritte le gesta eroiche , le conquiste islamiche e le coseguenti espansioni verso EST e OVEST.
Grande movimento di Traduzione in epoca Abbaside , dal iranico, greco e indiano. Soprattutto l'influenza indiana è evidente, trattati sanscriti vengono tradotti in arabo, molte novelle.
